Baltimore, MD. – Belfort Instrument Company, one of the world’s oldest meteorological sensor manufacturers, is introducing its new, low cost visibility sensor.
The new Model 6400 which has been specifically design to meet the requirements of Meteorological Optical Range (MOR) measurements for applications including synoptic stations, lighthouses, highways, resort areas, as well as shipboard and other marine platforms is now available. The Model 6400 visibility sensor is the latest in a long line of forward scatter visibility sensors manufactured by Belfort for more than 50 years. The 6400 provides visibility measurements from 20 feet (6m) to 50 miles (80km).
Belfort has applied its proven experience with visibility technology in designing this new sensor for applications that require both high accuracy for visibility measurements and ease of serviceability. “Our goal was to manufacture a lower cost, lower power visibility sensor with the industry leading reputation of Belfort visibility sensors,” this according to Ralph F. Petragnani, Belfort’s Vice President of Sales & Marketing, he continues “we believe we’ve accomplished these goals with the new 6400.”
